It all started in 1975 with Acier Bernier, a small business with a four-person team, in a 10 000 square feet plant.

In 1984, Acier Bernier becomes Acier Lalime and increases its workspace three times, reaching 32 000 square feet in working and storage space.

In 1999, Acier Lalime changed ownership. This transaction marks Acier Drummond inc.’s birth.

In 2002, Acier Drummond relocates its business activities in a new facility to increase its operational efficiency and handling capacity.

The new building makes handling of metal pieces of up to 60 feet long easier, while also providing the team with bigger workspaces.

The new tools are better and storage is easier and more efficient. In short, everything is planned to increase the team’s efficiency while maintaining a high level of quality in our products and services.

Not only does the new facility increase Acier Drummond’s global offering, it is also strategically located near autoroutes 20 and 55 in Centre-du-Quebec to better serve local clients while also offering a truck delivery service in a 160-km radius.

In addition to serving its Drummondville hometown, Acier Drummond can now deliver to clients and businesses located in Montreal and Greater Montreal area, Quebec, Eastern Townships, Mauricie and Centre-du-Quebec region.

In 2011, two of the key managers, Jonathan Dionne and Stéphan Hamel, become shareholders of the company.

In 2015, Acier Drummond acquires Acier H & H from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and merges it with its facility in Drummondville.

Backed by a stable growth, the business buys new equipment to increase its handling power and production capacity: overhead cranes, a fleet of delivery trucks, and specialized high precision metal saws.

Virginie Lefevre also joins Acier Drummond’s business development team at the same time, to help ensure a smooth transition with the acquisition of Acier H&H.

In May 2019, Jonathan Dionne and Stephan Hamel become the only shareholders of the company.
